The Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) is a Microsoft Business Certification used to validate software application proficiency with the Microsoft Office 2007 applications. To earn MCAS certification you need to pass one of the five exams available. After passing an individual exam, a person becomes an MCAS in the particular software application they took the exam in. After passing the exam, Microsoft sends each candidate a very nice certificate, a welcome kit, and the individual can use the logo on their resume and other personal documents.

After studying with the online training, you must take the MCAS exams at a local certiport testing center. There are numerous ways to learn Microsoft office skills. Taking online computer training courses for Office 2007 that focus on the software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Vista) is one of the fastest way to prepare for the exam and learn the applications. "Online training is a great solution for someone who is on a budget or needs a very flexible schedule," says Ricci.

Pursuing the classes in an online format gives you complete control over how fast you would like to learn the material and when and where you would like to study. "As a trainer, and an Instructional Designer, I have found the Computer Coach Office 2007 classes, to be comprehensive, user friendly and interactive which are all very important when preparing for one of the Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) exams or in just learning the Office application skill," says Ricci. In addition to the online training, practice exams are a good indication of what will be on the test. A book that has additional hands-on activities could also be helpful.
