Tampa, FL - November 2026 - If you've been thinking about PMP certification training, the path just got clearer. Computer Coach, Tampa Bay's premier computer training provider since 2001, is now an official Premier-level Project Management Institute (PMI) Authorized Training Partner, ATP #C019722. That puts our Tampa training center among a select group of providers approved to teach PMI's own certification content.
PMI is changing how it counts PMP training. Starting December 1, 2026, only live, instructor-led PMP prep from an Authorized Training Partner or an eligible accredited academic program counts toward the required 35 contact hours. Classes from other live providers won't qualify.
For anyone planning to sit for the PMP, that makes choosing a training provider a bigger decision than ever. Train with the wrong one, and you may have to repeat your hours before PMI accepts your application. Train with Computer Coach, and every live hour counts.
What you get as a Computer Coach PMP student
Our partnership with PMI changes what happens inside the classroom, too. PMP students now receive:
You can train the way that fits your life: a one-week weekday bootcamp, one full day a week for five weeks, or two evenings a week for five weeks. Every live format is available online or at our Tampa campus, and a self-paced option is available for those who need full flexibility.
Not every great project manager starts with years of experience. The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) is PMI's entry-level credential and requires no prior project experience. Our 24-hour CAPM course covers PMI's 23-hour education requirement and gives career changers, recent graduates, and veterans a recognized first step. When you're ready to move up, an active CAPM also satisfies the PMP's training requirement.
Project management skills are in demand across nearly every industry. PMI's 2025 Earning Power survey found that PMP holders in the U.S. earn a median salary of $135,000, about 24% more than their peers without the certification.
Companies and government agencies can schedule private PMP training for their teams on-site, at our campus, or online. Eligible students may also qualify for funding through
WIOA, the GI Bill, or VA Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment, among others.
