Computer Training Grants: A path to an IT Career Without Debt

Guide to computer training grants: A path to a I.T. career without the debt

Computer training grants are great for people who have an interest in the tech industry, but are concerned about spending a lot of money on a college degree. The average debt in America is $104.215 across mortgages, auto loans, student loans, and credit cards. People are well aware that colleges and universities are expensive. They overcharge and tend to under-deliver, resulting in serious problems for people across the country. Most of these students took the traditional route and went to a four-year college to earn a degree they probably won't use and are now in debt. To make matters worse most of them don’t know how to dig themselves out of the steep hole known as debt. Being approved for a training grant helps you avoid all of this.

What is a grant?
A grant is a form of financial aid that can be received that is not expected to be repaid. These are given by a government entity, foundation, corporation, or other organizations to an individual for a specific purpose. Grants are generally non-repayable once awarded making debt and interest expense avoidable. Getting grants is a lower risk way of obtaining financial assistance compared to loan financing. Grants can be used to cover a range of costs, this could include tuition, textbooks, and other accommodations. Training grants provide funding for training, coaching, certifications exams, books and technical assistance. Grants support a variety of individuals in pursuing specific training areas in the workforce. In particular at Computer Coach our students or people looking for a career change can apply for computer training grants to pay for tuition, books, and certification exams.

What are the qualifications to apply for a training grant?
When it comes to applying for a grant there are certain conditions that need to be met before you might be able to be approved for one. These requirements will vary depending on the grant and what it's for. It's important to understand the grant providers requirements and read through them. At Computer Coach, we work with a variety of training grant providers. Sign up to have a free career strategy session to learn about the various grants and see if you qualify.

What is a Certification Course?
A certification course is a recognized course that leads to an official vendor certification. when you pass the corresponding exam. Upon passing the exam you receive a document that verifies your professional knowledge and skills. If you’re looking for an entry level position, a certification course tends to be the faster, and more importantly, an affordable option to breaking into the tech industry.  Computer Coach offers over 50 certification training courses as an alternative to college

-- Fun fact, a lot of tech jobs only require applicants to have a high school diploma or GED. --

You can earn a certification in a shorter time span than a degree.
Most of the time earning an associate’s degree takes about two years. A bachelor’s degree takes four to five years as a full time student, sometimes longer depending on the level of degree and life circumstances. The time and length of a certification course can vary depending on the program but still tends to be significantly shorter than a degree. These programs are often condensed and can take a week - a few months. Again that depends on the program. So not only can a grant save you money but enrolling in a computer training course that maps to an IT certification can save you time as well.

Computer training grants could be your way of getting into the always growing tech field. Learning new skills that could be beneficial in the long term. It will save you more time and money than if you were pursuing a degree. If you like to know what kind of grants Computer Coach has to offer, learn more here.
